Our Story

 

 

The Hanging Egg started in late 2019 for a pretty simple reason.

 

We kept noticing the same thing again and again — hanging egg chairs were either hard to find, poorly made, or felt more like a novelty than something you’d actually want to live with.

 

 

So we decided to focus on doing one thing properly. 

 

 

Our chairs are Australian-designed, with an emphasis on comfort, durability, and designs that feel right in real homes — backyards, balconies, and everyday living spaces, not just styled photos.

 

Over time, our chairs and outdoor furniture have become part of homes right across Australia. Not as showpieces, but as the seat people naturally gravitate towards at the end of the day.

 


So why are we passionate about these unique looking chairs?

We believe the egg chair is more than just a 'chair'.
It means unwinding after a long day with a book and cup of tea.
It means connecting with loved ones in the outdoor area whilst in comfort. 
It means hanging out on a beautiful summer night as the sun draws down. 

 

It represents our happy place.
